MAVO Edge 8K, a brand-new large-format 8K cine camera, 8K 70P CMOS imaging sensor and cutting-edge image processing engine with whole-new carbon fiber body, allowing cinematographers to create without boundaries. It features 640/2560 dual native ISO, and shoots 8K Wide at up to 70fps and latitude up to 14+ stops. Even at open gate 3:2, surprisingly this beast can still deliver a gorgeous image of 45 million pixels at up to 45 frames per second. Not just getting highest resolution for motion pictures, MAVO Edge 8K also ensures natural color, pleasing skin tones, low noise, high dynamic range and stunning details in organic and delicate way, cinematically.

Featuring internal motorized full-spectrum e-ND, more industry-standard ports and dual SSD media slots, Kinefinity brings Apple ProRes4444/XQ to the MAVO Edge as an in-camera codec to make the workflow easier. MAVO Edge 8K also provides dual 1.5G/3G SDI outputs with metadata and audio transmission, to enhance the compatibility with third-party accessories like external recorders and 1.5G monitors. Mount

EF/E/PL/LPL

The camera’s native KineMOUNT needs to be installed with an adapter mount, such as EF, passive E, PL and the latest LPL mount, before the lens can be mounted for shooting.

Thanks to the innovative KineMOUNT, these adapter mounts do not require screws and can be quickly and reliably attached to the KineMOUNT. This enables almost all cine lenses and EF-mount photographic lenses to be seamlessly paired with MAVO Edge.

SSD

KineMAG Nano 1TB SSD/ KineMAG Nano Body

KineMAG Nano 1TB is based on NVMe M.2 2280 SSD with writing speed up to 10Gbps.

Kinefinity also provides a KineMAG Nano Body allowing users to install third-party NVMe M.2 2280 SSDs, which provides more storage possibilities.

Both KineMAG Nano 1TB and the body is equipped with a robust camera port as well as a universal USB-C port.

Monitor

KineMON 5U2/7U2 touch screen Monitor

MAVO Edge features two dedicated video ports, matching Kinefinity’s native Micro OLED full HD viewfinder and 2000 nit 5” and 7” monitors that support touch.

The native monitor/EVF based on the DirectClear efficient platform not only brings ultra-low latency, accurate color and fast response monitoring experience, but the ultra-bright 5-inch and 7-inch monitors also bring touch screen to directly adjust parameters.

KineBAT V-mount battery, GripBAT 2S/4S

The MAVO Edge 6K offers an innovative hybrid battery plate, supports standard 14.8V V-mount and BP-U type batteries such as KineBAT PD 99w/200w and GripBAT 4S to meet the setups that require handheld or gimbal shots.

Moreover, with UPS Baseplate from KineKit-Edge designed by Movcam and NP-F550 type batteries such as GripBAT 2S can provide UPS to the camera.

Kinefinity MAVO Edge 8K KineMount Overview

Illuminate the big screen in mesmerizing detail and color depth with the MAVO Edge 8K from Kinefinity, a carbon fiber full-frame cinema camera capable of industry-leading ProRes 4444 XQ internal recording. Capture 45-megapixel images at 45 fps to maximize resolution or freeze time with 2K/280 fps slow motion. Dual native ISO enables you to shape its 14 stops of dynamic range around either the highlights or lowlights, and its proprietary color science is ready for your 3D LUT.

The rolling shutter scans the sensor in only 12 ms, protecting even the quickest motions from distortion. Choose the oversampled 4K setting to preserve the framing and depth of field of a given lens or digitally crop to boost its magnification. A broad selection of glass is at your disposal using the manufacturer's lens adapters (available separately). The MAVO Edge 8K features a full complement of connections and power options for optimal integration with professional equipment and workflows.

Spectacular 8K Sensor

Shooting open gate in 3:2, you'll utilize the full 8192 x 5288, 44.7-megapixel sensor for outstanding detail. Cropping to 8K 16:9 will allow you to overcrank up to 70 fps. For breathtaking slow motion, 2K/280 fps opens the door for incredible macro shots, flames that dance under a chef's pan, or wildlife documentary images.

Image Quality

The MAVO 8K Edge's in-camera recording of ProRes 4444 XQ enables maximum flexibility in color grading. KineLOG3, its proprietary color science, is primed for applying a 3D LUT to attain a specific aesthetic.

Dual Native ISO

In darker scenes, the cleanest blacks may well come from the lower end of the 2560 high base ISO. When shooting a waterfall's mist or sculptural clouds, consider using the higher ISOs in the 640 low base to attain the maximum dynamic range in the highlights.

Electronic ND Filter

The motorized e-ND enables precise control over the exposure without affecting the depth of field or motion smoothness in your footage. Continuous tuning of the density from 0.6 to 2.1 translates to the ability to make detailed reductions in exposure between 2 and 7 stops. Color adjustments are automatically applied to the footage to compensate for the subtle spectrum shift caused by the e-ND.

Lens Mount

The proprietary KineMOUNT is designed to be used with a wide range of adapters (available separately). Choose from a wide selection of lenses with these PL, LPL, active EF, and passive E mount adapters.

Power

This body accepts plenty of power options, with mounts for V-mount or BP-U batteries, as well as a DC input and a baseplate option for UPS power from two NP-F550 via the KineKIT for MAVO Edge (available separately).

Wireless and Remote Interfaces
